This reef is just offshore from the village of Agat, on the U.S. island of Guam. Judging from the amount of natural debris (coconuts, bamboo, etc.) the trash is most likely being washed out from a near by river mouth. The video has received a lot of attention very quickly, and a cleanup dive is planned for next week. There is also an effort to tackle the bigger issue of improper waste disposal all over the island. I plan to film the clean up and follow the story. Hopefully there will be a happy ending.
